Warner brothers
The company was founded by four brothers: Harry Warner, Albert Warner, Samuel Warner and Jack warner in 1903 the bothers started to buy up movie theatres, then moving into distribution. In 1913 the brother began to produce films, moving their headquarters to Hollywood in 1917. The eldest of the brothers, Harry was the president of the company and ran its headquarters in New York City, Albert was its head of sales and distribution and Sam and Jack managed the studio in Hollywood. They have multiple studios in the US, and four in the UK. Warner brother is owned by warner media, which is owned by AT&T a telecommunications company. Warner media owns lots subsidiaries such as DC comics, Water tower records and CNN. The company has been running for 97 strong years, with their top 5 biggest box office successes being: 1) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. 2) Aquaman. 3) The Dark Knight Rises. 4) Joker. 5) The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey. The top 3 highest-grossing films in 2019 where Joker at $1.06B worldwide with the highest, followed by It chapter 2 with $221.6m domestically and $472m worldwide. Taking the number 3 spot is Pokémon: Detective Pikachu with $465.5m worldwide. Warner brothers are seen to work with a large variety of actors giving them the opportunity to create new and fresh franchises such as Wonder Woman. They have 21 movie releases in pre-production. Being such a big institution, they can take more risks, as they have bigger budgets to put investment behind projects as well as allow a large variety of different types of projects to be done at the same time.
