Opening scene research summery

All the opening scenes I researched for this task believe are very effective in different ways. For example, in the wild bunch, the opening scene is used more to give the audience a reputation of life in those areas and they type of ideologies associated with that regional identity. Whereas in A clockwork orange, the aim I believe is so not give much away with the intricate display of objects. One clear connection between all six of the opening scenes are not specific as you are not given anything that could affect the plot, you are just given hints, such as riders of the lost ark gives more away about the plot then a clockwork orange does, but both are nonspecific as they both allow for base assumptions to be made. I think that out of all the researched sequences, the one that sticks out the most for being different is a clockwork orange due to the way it's been made with the long shot duration and little movement within characters with an intricate set. The remaining scenes seem to be more simplistic giving a sense of what is occurring as with a clockwork orange it hard to get an idea of plot as anything could be happening. With this I feel that going of the goals and functions of an opening scene, the wild bunch, Raiders of the lost ark and Hacksaw ridge are the most successful opening sequences, due to the way that they set up the story and provide a basis in which that story can unveil, they also capture the audience's interest. On the other hand I do not believe that one scene could be given as not being successful as they all have very productive aspects in their own way, I would not say that one can be singled out as.

I Like the opening for a clockwork orange the best due to the introduction of the characters with a mysterious ethos behind the characters presentation. This allows for speculation of the audience and suggests a plot line reflective of the nature shown in the opening scene, although this topic cannot be specified due to the vast variety of connotations attached to things in the opening sequence.

My least favourite opening sequence is in the Wild bunch, a western film. This opening sequence presents a rural town in the wild west, I find this sequence low down on my list as there is no real sense of course behind the action of the characters, as well as the lack of mystery behind the plot as not much is hinted to audience, it is mainly laid out in front of you, therefore I find this the less successful opening scene personally.
